Description:

The assistant technical manager reports directly to the technical manager and other members of the management team. They have responsibility for the approval of designs, maintenance of specifications on current products and ensuring information handling procedures are followed. The role involves coordinating the day-to-day work of the entire technical team and to do this understanding the challenges faced by the different team members is important.

This post requires a candidate with very strong analytical reasoning skills who can communicate to technical and non-technical audiences by any means.

 

Qualifications:

The candidate must possess: 

  •           Teamwork and communication skills

  •           A solid understanding of business practice

  •           Competency at using MS Office products

  •           Practical approach to problem solving

  •           Analytical and data handling skills

  •           Ability to work to deadlines

  •           Capability to organise and prioritise tasks

It would also be beneficial for the candidate to have:

  •           Familiarity with working within an ISO 9001 quality system
              &  implementing change

  •           Familiarity with business administration systems

  •           Competence with mainstream Vector graphics software

  •           Competence with 3D Cad modelling

  •           Familiarity with assorted production techniques and the
              features of these.


The candidate must have:

  •           Experience of a quality or continuous improvement
              environment

  •           Experience of laboratory or research environment

  •           Academic or practical, science or engineering exposure

If would be beneficial for the candidate to have:

  •           Experience of the medical or pharmaceuticals sectors

  •           Materials science or production engineering exposure

  •           Experience of Small to Medium enterprise employment

  •           Experience of small team leadership or supervision
              experience
