    Our client is an international power company operating plants all over the world. We are currently looking for an Outage and Project Planner to work at their CCGT in Hull.

    The Outage and Project planner is responsible for developing and implementing a detailed project plan in order to track and deliver outage and project success with respect to achieving target completion dates and milestones. The planner is required to drive progress and updates through the maintenance and engineering team to achieve the agreed plan, changes to the plan should be delivered whilst ensuring no impact to the health and safety of contractors or employees and minimising the impact to the environment and quality assurance.

    Outage Planning.
    This will involve taking responsibility for scheduling of the overall work scopes, attending all the pre outage meetings, progress meeting and post outage meetings. Production of a project plan, the management of this plan on a daily basis. To achieve this, the planner will promote detailed feedback and cross discipline discussions in order to deliver efficiencies and maintain effective planning and resource allocation.

    Project planning.
    This will involve taking responsibility for scheduling of the overall work scopes, attending all the pre, progress and post project meetings. Production of a project plan, the management of this plan on a daily basis. To achieve this, the planner will promote detailed feedback and cross discipline discussions in order to deliver efficiencies and maintain effective planning and resource allocation. Allocation of contractor resources, support the project engineer in the overall management of contracting staff. Ensure effective communication between all site team to maintain effective planning with the maintenance teams and ensure efficient planning to enable plant release from the production team.

     

    Key Accountabilities:

    • Monitoring and scheduling of all activities to ensure compliance with Statutory, Regulatory and Company guidelines and in accordance with the appropriate health, safety and environmental, engineering and quality standards.

    • Support the project engineers through effective planning to allow budget planning, monthly and annual forecasts.  Actual spend and quantifying risks and uncertainty.

    • Safeguard the business income stream by incorporating preventative and defect maintenance in parallel with agreed improvement plans to delivery continued reliable and efficient operation of the plant.

    • Support the Responsible engineer for the upkeep of the project folders as required by plant modification procedures.

    • Actively promote effective and efficient team working.

    • Support the engineers in the management of control with regard to contract development, pre-qualification auditing, maintenance of technical, commercial, health, safety and environmental files.

    • Responsible for ensuring that the required materials and resources are available in order that the process is able to meet the agreed refurbishment plans.

    • Organise manpower and technical support resources to effect delivery of site engineering projects.

    • Carry out site tours and audits to ensure compliance with site procedures.

    • Carry out work based assessment to ensure value for money is being achieved.

    • Produce, collate and maintain Quality Plans, Inspection records and assessments and ensure regular updates in the plant status database.

    • Carry out other duties as may reasonably be required.                                                          

     

    Outcome, Results and Key Performance Indicators:

    • Overall outage and project plans produced, maintained and managed on a daily basis.

    • All variations and emerging situation recorded and impacts communicated and understood.

    • Provide a daily plan updates to outage or projects management team.

    • Facilitate group discussion to deliver effective planning.

    • Monitor progress against plan and highlight any short falls and potential delays.

     

    Qualifications:

    Knowledge and skills:

    The job holder will have:

    • Good knowledge of appropriate industry policies, procedures, and standards, with  the ability to apply these to gain competitive advantage.

    • Strong organisation, communication, interpersonal and IT skills to be able to work effectively, with both internal and external personnel, to ensure that all business objectives are met in a timely and cost effective manner.

    • An in depth knowledge on MS project and similar applications.

     

    Experience:

    The job holder will have:

    • Proven experience within the power generation, or similar industry, preferably gained in an engineering and/or maintenance background.

    • Proven record of project or outage management, has established effect planning and has met and exceeded the expectation of the plan.

    • Can drive and deliver a project plan on time with a detailed daily update without impact to the HSE aspects of project management.

    Qualifications: • Project management qualification.

    • MS Project training.

    • ISOH (Advantageous)

    • A craft background would also be an advantage.

    The Site Services Engineer is responsible for preserving the Civil Asset through the management of resources to deliver the short and long term requirements for maintaining the site infrastructure and delivering common site services to support the Maintenance, Engineering and Production functions to enable the implementation of O&M Strategies, compliance with SOCL process and procedures to ensure continued plant reliability, availability and efficiency whilst minimising cost.

    Key Accountabilities:

    • Preservation of the asset

    • Ensuring the condition of the buildings, infrastructure and support services do not present a risk to the health and safety of people employed at Saltend or to the environment.

    • Managing contracts and contractors to avoid and minimise Health and Safety accidents, incidents and near misses.

    • Continuously improving performance through monitoring, measurement and management review, and the application of corrective action process.

    • Managing the output of the support contract organisations through the management of daily, weekly and other planning meetings.

    • Compliance with existing legislation, IPR / SCCL O&M principals, directives and procedures.

     Knowledge and skills:

    The job holder will have:
