Scottish and Southern Energy is one of the largest and most diverse energy companies in the UK and Neos Networks, part of the group, is responsible for the delivery and support of the Data and Telephony Networks within our Company.

Reporting to the Head of Architecture, the main purpose of the role is telephony network design to support the growth and evolution of the SSE Telephony and CTI Network, and will involve desktop design of required business solutions and interaction with technical support, project management and key customer contacts.

Key duties and responsibilities of the role include:

• Initial desktop design to support the preparation of budgetry costing for services

• Analysing design options and interacting with key internal customers

• Maintaining thorough understanding of key networking technologies to ensure ongoing performance and cost-effectiveness of the network

• Producing economic and performance comparisons of networking approaches and presenting them in an appropriate manner for rapid assimilation by technical architects and senior managers

• Communicating overall network strategy and approach to operations and projects teams

Qualifications:

Successful candidates will:

• Have high exposure to traditional voice, data and IP Telephony technologies, as well as knowledge and experience of a CTI environment

• Have technical skills in areas of VOIP, TCP/IP Internetworking, PBX Trunking

• Possess Genesys and Avaya products and applications knowledge

• Have a proven track record of customer relationship management

• Demonstrate a flexible approach and logical problem solving skills

• Be results oriented with outstanding self-reliance, resourcefulness and initiative

• Possess the ability to communicate effectively across different teams

• Demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement
