Neos Networks, part of the Scottish and Southern Energy group, is the UK's first National Ethernet Service Provider offering bespoke network solutions and a flexible approach to network configuration.
Reporting to the Sales Manager, the purpose of this role is to identify, pursue and exploit profitable opportunities to sell the company’s range of telecoms services and to achieve challenging sales and margin targets. As well as managing and developing existing public sector customers, this role will also involve winning new name business from brand new prospective public sector accounts.
Key duties and responsibilities of the role include:
Maximising business potential amongst existing public sector customers
Acquiring new name big win public sector customers
Developing comprehensive large scale bids in response to PQQ’s, ITT’s and RFP’s
Managing the inclusion of Neos onto appropriate framework agreements
Establishing high level board relationships in order to influence customer financial, technical and business functions
Identifying strategic and tactical opportunities to enable the Neos virtual team to engage in proposition development
Providing technical, market and customer knowledge for senior management teams
Be self-motivated, resourceful and tenacious
Have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build a rapport at all levels and typically with CEO's or CIO's
Have previous experience working with other telecommunications companies and a track record in winning new telecommunications business opportunities
Have the ability to achieve or exceed pre-defined sales targets
Posses a thorough understanding of telecoms technologies, including: Layer 1 and 2 OSI stack bandwidth services such as Virtual LAN Ethernet, DWDN, SDH, TDM, MPLS and VPLS, Co-Location, Data Centres and Hosting services
Be well-versed in selling into the public sector
Have full driving licence due to level of mobilty required for this role
The successful candidate must have the ability to create a public sector business plan and be able to work on their own initiative. Candidates for this role will have worked (or be working) with other Telco’s or IT services companies. They must have good technical understanding of core telecoms technology and be well versed in selling into the Public Sector (typically, to CEO’s or CIO’s in Education, Local Government, Government agencies with national presence). Our Client will not be interested in candidates who are strong in one but not the other.
Although the role is ‘based’ at Reading, once this person is up to speed, time spent in the office will be minimal; the majority of this person’s time will be utilised in ‘selling’.
